A 24 month position for a postdoctoral research associate in the group of Marko Hyvonen to work on a fragment-based drug discovery (FBDD) project to develop inhibitors for the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in collaboration with teams in University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
We are a looking for a motivated individual with a strong background and previous experience in structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, and/or chemistry. Expertise in one or more of the key methodologies used in fragment-based drug discovery (X-ray crystallography, NMR or cryo-EM) would be highly desirable and expertise in enzymology advantageous.
The postholder will be in charge of the biochemical, biophysical and structural characterisation of inhibitor binding to the target protein as well as mechanistic studies of allosteric inhibition.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to collaborate with computational and medicinal chemists, cell and molecular biologists as part of a multidisciplinary drug discovery team.
