To date there is no way to prevent it or even slow its progression, and there is an urgent need to fill the knowledge gap in our basic understanding of the diseases that cause it.
The UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) is the biggest UK initiative driving forward research to fill this gap.
The UK DRI Care Research and Technology Centre (CR&T) are looking for a motivated, engaged, enthusiastic Administrator to join the team at the UK DRI Care Research and Technology Centre at Imperial College London and the University of Surrey. You will be based in White City at Imperial College London and will support a passionate and enthusiastic team. We use technology to help prevent hospital admission for people with dementia. Our aim is to help ensure people with dementia can live, with a good quality of life, in their own homes for as long as possible.
We are recruiting an Administrator to provide high-quality, effective administrative support to help us achieve this mission.
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will be meticulously organised and will be able to plan and prioritise their workload to meet deadlines. You will be a real team player, able to work independently and with others as tasks dictate. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be a confident communicator, you will be well organised with a strong desire to deliver excellent work. The Administrator will make an impact every day by enabling the Centre to operate efficiently and effectively towards the UK DRI vision for a world where research conquers dementia.
- Educated to A level or equivalent
- Evidence of administrative experience
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in writing, on the phone and in person with all levels of staff
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
This post is offered as a Full time and Fixed term contract of employment until March 2023, based at the Hammersmith Campus, London.
