Job summary

This is an exciting role for someone with a strong background and experience in IT who is highly motivated with a desire to learn new skills and technologies. You will support the IG Senior Programme Manager Information Governance requirements in the use of departmental health data within the Secure Enclaves, delivering on a variety of projects using the secure enclave including COVID-19 projects such as the Real-time Assessment of Community Transmission (REACT) Study , Health Data Research (HDR) UK projects and ongoing work within the MRC Centre for Environment and Health including the UK Small Area Health Statistics Unit (SAHSU).

Duties and responsibilities

As an Information Systems Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring and maintaining an up-to-date picture of systems and information security within the Centre to deliver on a variety of projects. You will report to the Senior Programme Manager for Information Governance, supporting the work to ensure effectiveness and compliance with security policies and standards, including systems and information security, user and administration account management, access authentication management, logging and monitoring whilst ensuring vulnerability management are understood and appropriate actions taken.

Essential requirements

You will have a degree in a technical field or relevant experience and have practical experience in server infrastructure architecture and design, security management, Windows software and technology platform and an excellent understanding offirewall, VPN and networking technologies. Attention to detail, the proven ability to set up, maintain and administer servers and compute storage systems in a Windows-based environment and the commitment to ensure the quality and accuracy of work is essential.
