Job summary

TheExternal Relations Officer (The Forum)willjoin the Public Affairs Division tosupport thedelivery ofan excitingprogrammeof workto raisethe profile and understanding of our world-class academic research with policymakers.

You will play a key role in supportingImperial’s strategic goal ‘to inform decision makers and influence policy’.

Duties and responsibilities

You will work closely with the Programme Manager and Policy and Programmes Officer to ensure that communications expertise is available for our academic community to maximise impact and influence.

You will achieve this through proactively developing communications, events and stakeholder relations activity to support opportunities for policymakers to interact with and develop a better understanding of our world-class research and innovation offerings and provide cross-College support for academic staff.

As a member ofthePublic AffairsDivision, you will help to achieve widespread understanding of the College’s mission, vision and aims, and assist in building and maintaining the College’s reputation.

Essential requirements

    • Experience of working ina communications, policy or public affairs environment


    • Experience of delivering events


    • Experience of delivering communications on complex policy issues for a variety of audiences


    • Outstanding written, proofing and editing skills andtheability to convey messages in a clear and compelling way, tailored according to the audience


  • Strong networking and stakeholder management skills
