Job summary

Due to the continuing expansion of online and blended degree programmes, we are seeking to appoint a talented and motivated individual to assist us in providing high-quality and professional learning technology support to Imperial College Business School.

This is an exciting and challenging position, offering the right candidate the opportunity to help enhance teaching and improve the student experience. We strive to be innovative and excellent at what we do so you will need to be thoroughly acquainted with current trends in online learning design and how these trends can be implemented. Most importantly, you will share our enthusiasm for online learning and our belief that technology can enhance education.

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Online Learning Developer, you will identify, evaluate, recommend and implement appropriate technologies to assist in the effective delivery of multi-modal, blended and online teaching. You will act as a central point of contact, supporting faculty to utilise technology and advise on devices and software best suited to their teaching needs. An awareness of the issues influencing learning and teaching within Higher Education is essential, as is the ability to anticipate teaching requirements and deliver reliable tech solutions.

In parallel, you will also be responsible for the development, maintenance and quality assurance of all online learning content on the digital learning platform, ensuring all developed content meets expected requirements and delivery runs smoothly. You will deliver platform training across the School and provide technical support in person, via email or helpdesk software. You will also liaise directly with the platform providers, logging recommendations, reporting bugs and testing new features.

Essential requirements

    • Demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for the use of technology in education

 

    • Experience of working on e-Learning projects and delivering successful outcomes

 

    • Experience of working with academic staff to design, develop, test and evaluate e-Learning resources

 

    • Knowledge of and experience with CSS, HTML and other web development technologies and related tools

 

  • Exceptional interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills.
