Job summary

Applications are invited for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Student Experience Administrator in the Department of Mathematics, Imperial College London. Working with the Student Liaison Officer, the Student Experience Coordinator, the UG and PG Teaching staff and administrative teams, and student leaders, you will assist the Department around all aspects of student experience.

Duties and responsibilities

Working as part of a team, the Student Experience Administrator provides vital support to staff and students around all issues pertaining to the student experience. You will be responsible for administrative support around monitoring and implementation of programmes, logistics and data analysis. You will be engaged directly with student and student focused departmental events, both for current students as well as outreach and recruitment events, supporting and developing ideas and activities as well as being responsible for events logistics. As part of the student facing team, you may be asked to take on other support tasks as needed, engaging with the full student journey.

Essential requirements

The essential requirements for this post are as follows:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with students in an educational environment
  • Experience working in an administrative role in an educational environment
  • Experience organising events
  • Proficiency in a range of computer-based procedures and software packages, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and Outlook, willingness and ability to learn and work with new software
  • An awareness of the expectations of students in HE and an understanding of the need to manage these
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management
  • An interest in playing a key part in learning experience and personal development of students
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and work successfully in a team as well as on your initiative
  • Effective, highly developed interpersonal skills at all levels

Further information

This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) position, and you will be based at South Kensington Campus. The preferred set working day is Wednesday, with the other 1.5 days negotiable between Monday – Friday.
