Job summary

Imperial College London is a world Top 10 university with an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research and we are looking for talented individuals to join our Welcome Team to deliver our reception services across our campuses.

The College’s Campus Services is at the forefront of delivering exceptional front-facing services to a growing campus community and being a Welcome Host is an integral part of this. You will join our team and largely be responsible for providing a warm professional welcome to all, including meeting and greeting our visitors and delivering a high level of service to staff and students across our campus.

To join our Welcome Host Team you’ll be a team player who is proactive, flexible, adaptable and able to deliver a 5 star reception service. A passion for providing excellent front of house services is a must so the successful candidates will have a strong can-do attitude and have the relevant experience in building strong relationships from previous FOH roles, possibly in hotels or the corporate sector.

The role is working Monday to Friday, across all College campuses in London, offering a variety of opportunities across our different locations.

We have one full time, open ended vacancy and two fixed term appointments until 31 July 2022.

Essential requirements

Successful candidates must be/have:

  • Educated to GCSE at grade A* to C including English and Maths
  • A proven track record of working with a customer service environment that delivers an exceptional, first class service
  • Experience of working in a reception service and coordinating various activities and/or people
  • A working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation in the context of a Front of House service and appropriate to the role
  • Good IT and particularly Outlook, Word and Excel to intermediate level
  • Good basic knowledge of visitor management systems and meeting room bookings
  • Excellent communication skills with a warm, outgoing and friendly personality
  • Strong administrative skills
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working

Salary – £22,909 per annum (pro rata for fixed term appointments)

Operational Services, Grade 1a (3)

Full Time, Permanent Position x 1

Full Time, Fixed Term Position to 31.07.2022 x 2

The standard working week consists of 37 hours
