Executive Dean

Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences

King’s College London is a multi-disciplinary, research-led university with over 33,000 students from 150 countries. Our five campuses in the heart of London span boroughs that offer some of the greatest opportunities and connections across medical London, legal, cultural, business, and policy – as well as some of the greatest socio-economic challenges and levels of health inequality. Our partnerships reach across the globe and 40% of our staff come from overseas. We combine our knowledge and scholarship to make a genuine impact locally and globally.

King’s is now seeking to appoint an exceptional leader to the role of Executive Dean for the highly successful Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences (FoDOCS), the largest dental faculty in Europe. The Executive Dean is a member of the University Executive which brings together all nine faculty leaders with SVPs and VPs to oversee all academic, professional services, policy, and financial decisions. Reporting to the Senior Vice President (Academic) and working closely with other university leaders, the Executive Dean will be expected to lead and inspire, deliver financial sustainability, and encourage and nurture interdisciplinary opportunities and partnerships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Our NHS Trust partnerships provide us with real strength in depth across clinical disciplines. With over a thousand dental students, we have a critical mass that brings considerable benefits to everyone. The faculty distinguishes itself by its unique research portfolio in dental, oral and craniofacial sciences, embracing blue skies discovery research in addition to translational and clinical sciences. The successful candidate will therefore bring a distinguished profile in a field relevant to the faculty, alongside a strong commitment to research and innovative education across all relevant disciplines.

Both King’s and FoDOCS support the career development of staff from all backgrounds and the new Executive Dean will be expected to evidence a deep commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
