The Role

You will create, co-ordinate and deliver a wide range of high-quality marketing and digital communication materials for a range of audiences, as part of the Accommodation Services’ and Hospitality and Commercial Services’ marketing strategy. Based within the central marketing team, the post holder will work across both Services, as part of a team responsible for the development, implementation and management of the University’s marketing plans. Responsible for campaign overview, they will work in collaboration with channel delivery teams to prepare and execute campaigns based on market insight, and report on their effectiveness.

This is a fixed term post available until 10 June 2022.

Key Accountabilities

  • The development, implementation and management of a range of marketing and communications campaigns and activities to enable Accommodation Services and Hospitality and Commercial Services to achieve their strategic objectives
  • Responsible for working with internal delivery teams and external suppliers to deliver digital and printed marketing materials
  • Working with key stakeholders, develop and deliver an integrated marketing and communications calendar in order to support key activities across Accommodation Services and Hospitality and Commercial Services
  • Co-ordinate a range of internal communications directed at staff in Accommodation Services and Hospitality Services, including regular staff newsletters and updates delivered via the staff intranet
  • Content planning and copywriting for a wide range of stakeholders, including prospective applicants, current students, staff and visitors across all channels, including web content editing and printed materials
  • Plan, develop, publish and manage content across a range of social media for Accommodation and Hospitality, including Facebook and Twitter, including responding to online enquiries and conversations in a timely and appropriate manner, including liaising with colleagues where relevant
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders, co-ordinate a range of surveys and market research activities to inform key decision-making
  • Responsible for the management of the EAT@ loyalty programme, including the development of promotional campaigns and reporting on performance
  • Provide advice and guidance on best practice to colleagues across both services within areas of marketing and communication, e.g. to ensure brand consistency and to maximise effectiveness of communications, including the brand management of@EAT

The Person (Essential)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience across all marketing channels required, including organic social, email, website, SEO, paid social and search
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Substantial digital and print copywriting experience and experience of writing / producing publicity and marketing materials, preferably in a higher education context
  • Proof-reading skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent project management skills
