As part of a significant investment in people, we delighted to be recruiting for a Professor/Reader in Cyber Security. The post is intended to co-lead the Secure & Resilient Systems (SRS) group, which conducts research in the protection of computing systems against malicious attacks as well as accidental failures. The group is currently about 40 colleagues strong, covering both resilience and security research topics, with a strong tradition of interdisciplinary research. We are responsible for an MSc in cyber security, a degree apprenticeship for cyber security specialists and newly re-designed undergraduate teaching in security and resilience. We are a core part of the Newcastle Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research (ACE-CSR) and the cross-faculty Centre in Cyber Security & Resilience.
The successful candidate would play a key strategic role in further strengthening the ACE-CSR. As a group we are looking for an innovative research leader in cyber security, as part of a larger strategic investment in cyber security and resilience research and education within Newcastle University. We look forward to expanding our group with a person with an appealing research vision, an inclusive and inspiring way of working and a strong interest in interdisciplinary research.
