Applications are invited for the post of Associate Professor or Professor of Algorithms and Complexity Theory in the Department of Computer Science and St Anne’s College, to start 1 September 2022. The successful candidate will also be appointed as a Fellow and Tutor in Computer Science at St Anne’s College. Tutors are responsible for the organisation and teaching of their subject within the College.
You will be a member of both University and college communities, and part of a lively and intellectually stimulating research community with access to the excellent research facilities which Oxford offers. You will have a role to play in the running of the College as a member of the Governing Body and a trustee of the College as a charity.
The Department of Computer Science is a vibrant and growing academic department, which has a research profile across the entire spectrum of contemporary computer science. You will join the Algorithms and Complexity Research Group and will be expected to engage in independent and original research within this research area. You will be expected to secure funding, to engage in the management of research projects, and to disseminate your research through publication in high-quality scholarly journals and conferences. You will also contribute to teaching on the Department’s highly successful undergraduate and graduate programmes.
In the College you will undertake the work of a Tutorial Fellow: you will teach and take responsibility for the academic progress of undergraduates, act as College Adviser to graduate students, take part in the undergraduate admissions process, contribute to the intellectual life of the College, and serve as a Trustee, on the College’s Governing Body and on other committees and working groups.
You will holda doctoral degree in Computer Science or a related mathematical discipline, havethe ability to teach across a range of Computer Science subjects, and will also have a proven research track record of internationally high quality in the area of Algorithms and Complexity Theory.
