Lincoln College, Mansfield College and the Department of Economics are recruiting for two full-time Career Development Fellows in Economics (CDF).

The Fellowships provide a structured development opportunity for exceptional candidates embarking on an academic career in Economics. The Fellow will receive mentoring from a senior academic staff member, and will be offered a carefully tailored package of professional development. The posts are full time and are fixed-term for four years from the 1st September 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. The Fellow will teach undergraduate students and provide administration for the College, including assessment and interviewing for the annual admissions exercise. The Fellow will also provide teaching for the department and will mark examination scripts, but will not be expected to undertake other departmental administrative duties. The Fellow will engage in research, with the intention of publishing in international journals. To support this, one term in the final year of the appointment will be designated as paid research leave.

Applications will be accepted from candidates from all economic specialisms, however Mansfield College has a particular teaching need in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Quantitative Economics,and Lincoln College has a teaching need in Macroeconomics and Quantitative Economics.

Candidates should hold or be close to completing a PhD or equivalent by the 31st December 2021, and should not normally have completed a PhD or equivalent earlier than 1st October 2016 (with the exception of career breaks, e.g. for maternity / paternity leave). A high level of academic achievement, appropriate to the stage of the candidate’s career, is essential.Candidates should also have the ability, or the potential, to provide excellent tutorial and small group teaching. Previous experience of teaching would be an advantage.
