Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow – Covid Programme to join Professor Sarah Gilbert’s team at the Jenner Institute.

The team has been working in partnership with Professor Andrew Pollard’s team, the Oxford Vaccine group, on the rapid clinical development of a vaccine against Covid-19. The vaccine has now received licensure for emergency use in the UK and a number of other countries, whilst clinical trials are continuing to generate data. We are now looking for a Clinician to play an active role in the continuation of clinical trials of the Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid vaccine at the Jenner Institute.

You will play an active role in the execution of clinical trials of The Oxford Covid vaccine in Oxford by working closely with the clinical trials team including Chief Investigator, project managers, nurses, recruitment coordinator and data manager in the design and conduct of clinical trials; screening, vaccination and follow up of volunteers according to the protocol, and present results as a verbal presentation or written report for both internal meetings and those with external collaborators.

You will Hold GMC or GDC registration and, where relevant, a licence to practice in the UK (Foundation Year 1 and 2 training completed); research clinician (MRCP or equivalent); have a substantive academic contract of employment with an HEI. You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to be comfortable and confident interacting with volunteers and patients in a research study, clinical research coordinators, team members, laboratory and administrative staff, monitors, collaborating company representatives, MCA auditors and the broader research community.

The post is fixed-term contract until 31 March 2022 in the first instance (with possibility of extension) and funded by the NIHR.
