Grade 7:£33,309 – £40,927

Clinical Study Coordinator

Can be appointed as underfill at Grade 6: £29,614 – £35,326 if the required criteria are not fully met.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a full-time (part-time considered) Clinical Study Coordinator to coordinate research projects under the DeLIVER (The Early Detection of Hepatocellular Liver Cancer) consortium that aims to identify novel, more sensitive detection methods for the early detection of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC, Liver Cancer). We are aiming to start two national clinical trials called SELINA and Pearl. SELINA (N=250) will be a cross-sectional study of patients with small HCC to evaluate new technologies for HCC early detection. The Pearl study (N=3000) is a prospective study of patients with liver cirrhosis at risk of HCC to identify biomarkers that can predict the development of HCC.

Based at the Peter Medawar Building for Pathogen Research and/or John Radcliffe or Churchill Hospital and working within NDM Experimental Medicine, the post holder will be reporting to the Chief Investigator and will support the day-to-day management of the research studies under the umbrella of the DeLIVER consortium. This involves regular communication with participating study sites and consortium members, receiving weekly recruitment updates from sites and providing support for efficient study conduct at sites. The post holder is further responsible for scheduling shipments of samples from sites to the central laboratories in Oxford, will liaise with scientific laboratories in Oxford and will arrange for the collection, transfer, analysis of samples and related data between sites.

This post requires someone educated to a degree level or have equivalent experience of working in clinical research; with experience of working in clinical research and an understanding and previous experience of working to Good Clinical Practice and the regulations and guidelines applicable to clinical research in the UK. The successful candidate will have a proven record of administrative, organizational, management and communication skills, the ability to work towards tight timelines and solve problems efficiently.

The Cancer Research UK-funded position is available for 2 years in the first instance but may well be extended.

The closing date for applications is noon on the 20th January 2022.
