We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Trial Manager to join the Surgical Intervention Trials Unit (SITU) within Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) based at the Botnar Research Centre, Oxford. Your primary responsibility would sit within SITU, but the role is to work with the Chief Investigator and the study team to efficiently develop and coordinate active portfolio of new and ongoing trials at a national level. The role will involve the development of pragmatic and appropriate processes to ensure successful recruitment and retention of patients and administration of trial procedures.

As a Clinical Trial Manager you will work autonomously as a Trial Manager, taking overall responsibility for the day to day management for at least one main trial or study and act as central point of contact for enquiries. You will provide regular feedback on progress of the research to the Chief Investigator and the SITU Portfolio Manager, and also work with the trial programmer and data manager to assist in the design and testing of the trial database systems for randomisation, data entry, validation and report generation.

You will hold a degree in a biomedical or associated subject, or other relevant qualification, or proven experience in management of clinical research. You will have an understanding of clinical research methodology, good clinical practice and the research governance framework., as well as experience and understanding of techniques for the management of medical research information e.g. data entry validation and reporting. The successful applicant must demonstrate a critical and intelligent attention to detail and high standards of accuracy, proven administrative and project management skills, and have the ability to work on own initiative and problem solve.

This is a full-time fixed term appointment for 2 years.
