Communications & Engagement Officer
Zoology / Biology Mansfield Road, Oxford OX1 3SZ
Grade 5: £26,341 to £31,406 per year (with a discretionary range to £34,304)
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and people-focussed Communications & Engagement Officer to join our team in Biology, which works across both Zoology and Plant Sciences.
You will support the development and introduction of the new communications strategy, including visual identity policy, and will have specific responsibility for the website, press items, intranet and social media channels. You will support our alumni relations operation using bespoke software (training will be provided) and work on communications with alumni; and you will support the departmental outreach efforts, including preparation of printed and digital material, and running of targeted outreach hybrid events.
You will have a strong customer focus, an understanding of basic ED&I issues, flexible ‘can do’ attitude and a passion for science communication. You must be able to write well for a range of audiences, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively to a deadline. Strong IT skills and experience of editing online content are essential.
