Departmental Lecturer in Fluid Mechanics for Offshore Renewable Energy

We are seeking a full-time Departmental Lecturer in Fluid Mechanics for Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) to join the Civil Engineering research group at the Department of Engineering Science (Central Oxford). The post is fixed term for 3 years from appointment and is funded by the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Wind and Marine Energy Systems and Structures (WAMESS CDT).

You will lecture and teach undergraduate and graduate students and contribute to the teaching, research, and academic administration of the Department, with particular emphasis on support for fluids teaching within the WAMESS CDT. The Civil Engineering Fluids group conducts research across a broad spectrum of topics including an extensive programme in ORE principally comprising tidal stream and wind energy research. The post holder will contribute to the existing programmes of ORE fluids research, as well as develop new research projects and lead independent research, sponsored by research councils and/or industry.

You will possess a PhD in a relevant field and additional research experience. Good communication skills and an aptitude for teaching are essential. You should have extensive specialist knowledge in fluid mechanics for ORE.
