Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager
School of Geography and the Environment, South Parks Road, Oxford
Grade 7 £32,817 – £40,322 per annum
We seek a part-time Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Manager for the Centre for Research into Energy Demand Solutions (CREDS). CREDS is a consortium of more than 20 UK institutes with over 130 staff. It wishes to change the way that energy is used by reducing energy demand, improving energy efficiency and enabling flexibility in time of use.
The main duties will include developing and maintaining the CREDS EDI Plan, contributing to the ideas and direction of the plan, undertaking research and leading the implementation. The successful applicant will lead the planning and implementation of the surveys and analysis needed to monitor the delivery and install a reporting process. You will act as Secretary to the CREDS EDI Working Group, working with the Group’s chair to ensure agenda setting, distribution of papers, minute-taking and following up of actions in a timely manner for the groups’ meetings. You will manage your own activities, involving small scale project management, to coordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
You must have a qualification relevant to energy research and/or EDI, or equivalent experience in Universities, business or the public sector. You will have a demonstrated commitment to the goals of equality, diversity and inclusion and an interest in energy demand issues. You will have strong skills in addressing sensitive issues with tact, confidentiality and commitment. Experience in engagement and knowledge exchange is essential.
CREDS is committed to a policy of equal opportunities. We are keen to obtain diversity in the leadership of the centre. Applications from women, those with a disability, members of minority ethnic groups, and other groups who are currently under-represented in UK energy research, are therefore especially welcome.
The appointment will be available part-time (7.5 hours) for 2 years. You may be either an energy researcher with a strong commitment to EDI or an EDI specialist with an interest in energy research.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your application.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 1 March 2021, and it is expected that interviews will be held in March 2021.
