Grade 3: Salary in range £20,092 – £22,847 per annum

We are seeking motivated Grants & Finance Administration Assistant to join the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics. You will provide general administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the Centre’s Research Grants, Accounts, Facilities, and general support services.

Your role as Grants & Finance Administration Assistant will be split between the administration team, for whom you will ordinarily work with for the majority of your time, and the facilities team, for whom you will provide ad hoc cover for during periods of leave and illness in their reception team. Flexibility will be needed between supporting the teams, and will be co-ordinated by the Finance Manner and Senior Grants Officer. You will maintain and collate information required for research grant audits. This will involve liaising with the Finance Division during grant audits and providing information in a timely fashion and as well as assist with monthly recharge journals and other finance administration duties.

It is essential that you are educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, in particular evidence of numerical ability. It will be required that you have a demonstrable enthusiasm for the role, and for working as a part of the support staff team within the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics. You will be friendly, personable, and conduct yourself in a professional manner, with a personal commitment to providing outstanding customer service at all times. It is essential that you can work accurately with attention to detail and have a flexible approach to work and allocated tasks. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people. It is desirable that you have experience of working within a higher education environment but not essential.
