Zoology / Biology offices, Oxford Science Area 11a Mansfield road, Oxford, OX1 3SZ
Grade 6: £29,614 to £35,326 (discretionary range to £38,587)
This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a busy grants team that supports the Departments of Plant Sciences and Zoology. Our Departments will merge in a few months to form the Deptartment of Biology, so this role will help balance workload while we develop new, unified administrative processes and assess the workload created by our combined grants function.
Biology manages around 400 projects at any one time, funded from a wide variety of sources. You will be assigned your own portfolio of grants and will look after them from award to completion. You will work closely with PIs to provide excellent service, and ensure compliance with funding body and University regulations.
You will have a strong team ethic and excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to maintain accuracy and to manage multiple workstreams. Your IT skills (particularly Excel) and financial skills will be very strong; an awareness of the major science funders is desirable, but not essential.
The post is full time, fixed term for 18 months and may be offered as a secondment. For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Jeannie Scott firstname.lastname@example.org
Applications must be made online by midday on 7 October 2021.
