The Head of Risk, Compliance and Assurance is the University’s professional lead on all aspects of risk management, compliance and assurance, ensuring that appropriate arrangement are integrated, embedded and operating effectively and efficiently across the University.
The post holder acts as the Secretary to the Audit and Scrutiny Committee and manages the day to day relationship with the professional services firm providing internal audit services under a managed outsourcing arrangement.
A key dimension of the role is the ability to provide advice, guidance and support to colleagues across the University (e.g. Divisions, departments, professional services) and to lead integration of the University’s compliance activities and ultimately improvement in compliance.
Working closely with the Director of Assurance, the individual providing maternity cover for this post will help build on the work already undertaken since June 2020 by the Head of Risk, Compliance and Assurance to develop and embed an integrated function, including networks across the organisation, so that the understanding of risk allows the University to adopt a risk-based approach to compliance, assurance and audit.
