About the role

This is a fixed term position to cover the substantive postholder whilst they are on maternity leave.

The HR/Administrative Assistant will work as part of a team providing flexible HR and administrative support for the Faculty. The appointee will have particular responsibility for HR administration and PA support to the Regius Professor of History and to the Beit Professor of Imperial and Global History.

You may be called upon to help in a range of different areas, and we will endeavour to provide you with opportunities to broaden and deepen your skills.

About you

The successful candidate will need excellent organisational and team working skills, with a flexible can-do attitude and a willingness to integrate into and effectively support the administrative team. You will need to be able to adapt to the changing needs and priorities of the team and be able to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, meeting strict deadlines and maintaining excellent attention to detail.

You will also have demonstrable communication skills and the ability to use your own initiative and work independently – but knowing when to seek further advice.

Strong IT skills and excellent literacy (English language) and numeracy skills are essential, as is a good level of secondary education.

You will have experience of handling confidential information, and the ability to manage personnel matters with tact and discretion.

Experience in an HR environment would be an advantage as would experience of providing support as a personal or executive assistant.
