About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Hub Café Team at Kellogg College as our part time Barista.

You will play a significant role in providing high standard of service to our customers, supporting the Café Manager and other team members in the café. You will be responsible for preparing beverages and food each day, and ensuring that the service and seating areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.

You will be joining one of Oxford University’s largest and most international graduate colleges and has a unique mix of students: it is the University’s leading college for students reading for degrees on a part-time basis, and has a strong and vibrant body of full-time students as well. The College’s wider academic community includes members drawn from across the full range of academic disciplines in the University.

About you

You should have a level 1 in food safety and preparation qualification or a comprehensive understanding of food safety. You will possess good customer service skills and interpersonal skills, a proven ability to juggle multiple demands, manage competing deadlines and to remain calm under pressure.

You will have good verbal communication skills with the ability to take and pass on food and drink orders and messages.

Your hours will be worked flexibly, according to the needs of the College. Your weekly working pattern will be agreed between the Café Manager and the successful candidate – with some flexibility for occasional evenings, Bank Holidays and weekend work required.
