Grade 6: £28,660-£34,189 with a discretionary range to £37,345 per annum, pro rata
The Faculty of Oriental Studies is seeking to appoint an Instructor in Classical Hebrew to commence in October 2021.
The Instructor will be expected to give a maximum of 7 hours of instruction in every week of the University’s full term (there are three terms, and the ‘full term’ period within each term is eight weeks) and to undertake some administration, course development and examining when required, in collaboration with other members of the Hebrew, Jewish and Eastern Christianity Subject Group. The successful candidate will be supported and mentored by senior postholders in Hebrew and Jewish Studies.
You will have an excellent command of Classical Hebrew, excellent oral and written communication skills, and be qualified to at lease Master’s level in a subject pertinent to the teaching of Classical Hebrew. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable commitment to dynamic and effective language teaching, a sufficient depth and breadth of knowledge in the subject to develop course materials, and a willingness to take on administrative roles as required.
This position is based in central Oxford. This is a permanent, part-time position at 40% FTE.
