Are you keen to use your IT skills to support ground-breaking research in addition to having the opportunity to develop your skills, learning about the specialist and unique IT systems connected with cardio imaging analysis?

The Radcliffe Department of Medicine (RDM) is a multi-disciplinary department which aims to tackle some of the world’s biggest health challenges. Cardiovascular medicine is one of the divisions within RDM and as IT Assistant you will be working across three research units: Oxford Centre for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (OCMR) and Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility (CCRF), and the Acute Vascular Imaging Centre (AVIC). You will also be expected to form a collaborative working relationship with MSD IT services as an Associate.

As IT Assistant, you will join a friendly, professional team providing vital IT support to the 3 units’ work and research projects. Your main responsibilities will include providing front-line IT support to staff, researchers and students over a wide range of devices, modality and operating systems in addition to other tasks such as server maintenance, dealing with IT compatibility issues, auditing event logs and ensuring projected storage capacity and infrastructure are sufficient for users’ needs.

To be considered for the role you will already have some experience in customer-focussed IT support and an aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving. You will also need to demonstrate enthusiasm for taking on the development aspect of this role in terms of learning more about cardio imaging systems. You should also be organised and methodical with strong communication and organisational skills.

The position is full time and fixed term for three years in the first instance with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will be expected to work onsite in Oxford for a significant amount of time, and in line with current safe University of Oxford working practices .
