The Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit (ORTU) is recruiting an IT Systems and Data Management Lead.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing Clinical Trials Unit and to provide input into the future development and growth of the data management team and the wider Unit IT system needs.
You will oversee data management activities that ensure the completeness, accuracy, consistency and above all validity of trial data collected by the Unit, and provide line management and training to other members of the data management team. You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the Unit’s clinical trial databases and systems and for developing and maintaining software packages in accordance with the Unit’s Standard Operating Procedures.
It is essential that you have experience of system development, testing and validation, and managing junior colleagues. An understanding of the regulatory environment surrounding clinical trials, experience using clinical trial data management systems such as OpenClinica and REDCap, and familiarity with a programming language is desirable.
A degree-level qualification in a subject relevant to computing, or significant equivalent professional experience, is essential. You will have good organisational and leadership skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, including prioritising and delegating work.
The post is full time and fixed-term for 1 year in the first instance.
