The Oxford Honeybee Laboratory is currently seeking an experienced bee technician to provide support for a project on the role of fats in the honeybee’s diet. The ideal post holder will have experience working with live honeybees in the field and in the laboratory.
This post will require the postholder to help with the execution of experiments designed to understand how fats in diet influence the lifespan and performance of individual bees and whole colonies of bees. The day-to-day activities will include (but not be limited to): handling live honeybees, experimental preparation, diet preparation, collection of data, lab cleaning, ordering reagents, assisting postdocs and students, recording and organizing data, and engaging in team work within the lab.
The ideal candidate will have worked in a lab environment with honeybees previously and will be willing to work over weekends when required.
