Computer Science – Wolfson Building, Parks Road, Oxford

Grade 7: Salary £33,309 – £40,927 p.a.

The Department of Computer Science is looking for a Learning Technologist to support the strategic development of technology in the classroom and online course delivery in the future. You will be joining the Department of Computer Science at an exciting time as we review our strategy around course delivery and define how we build on the lessons learnt in the last two years.

You will use your expertise to lead on selected projects taking place in the Department to innovate the use of digital tools and approaches to teaching and learning using technology. In particular, you will be expected to explore and promote the use of technology in teaching and learning, to manage and optimise the use of technologies such as virtual whiteboards, PDF annotation software, Canvas, Moodle, Teams, Zoom, Panopto, websites, etc, in combination with onsite technologies such as the audio visual equipment, and to help the Department of Computer Science and support staff make full use of learning technologies.

You should be educated to degree level, and have an accreditation, qualification or evidence of formal training in education/e-learning, have ability to support the use of technology for teaching and learning in a Higher Education environment, and have experience of supporting the use of digital learning platforms to enhance teaching and learning and the student experience, as well as a good understanding of accessibility, copyright and usability issues in this context. You should possess highly effective interpersonal skills, team working skills combined with the ability to work independently. Experience of working in a higher education sector is highly desirable.

You will be based in the Wolfson Building but you may be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

This is a full time, fixed-term for two years in the first instance post.
