Part-time Senior Postdoctoral Researcher; Cultural Psychiatry & Health Inequalities

Grade 8: £41,526-£49,553 p.a. pro-rata

We are looking to appoint a part-time (60% FTE) senior postdoctoral researcher to work on a project, led by Professor Kam Bhui to establish stablish a Centre of Excellence on ‘ethnic inequalities and severe mental illness’ (www.synergicollaborativecentre.co.uk ). The post is based at the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.

The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31 January 2022).

You will undertake rapid and systematic reviews, evidence syntheses, secondary analysis and work with the project leads in co-creation and co-production workshops with other stakeholders. You will be responsible for agreeing clear task objectives, organising and delegating work to other members of the team, and coaching on specialist methodologies and procedures.

You will have a PhD in a relevant subject along with post-qualification research experience. With a strong publication record, you will be familiar with existing literature and research in the field, and possess sufficient specialist knowledge to develop research project and methodologies. You will have demonstrable experience in conducting complex statistical analyses with large data sets. Understanding of the nuances and complexities of working in the areas of mental health and health inequalities would be desirable.
