The Department of Chemistry is looking for an experienced, self-motivated Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive administration and secretarial support to Professor Chris Schofield one of the Principal Investigators and founders of the INEOS Oxford Institute of Antimicrobial Research (IOI-AMR).This post will play a key role in the successful establishment and subsequent growth of the new IOI-AMR. The IOI-AMR was created on 1 January 2021, and is closely linked with both the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Zoology (the latter will become the Department of Biology in 2022).
This full time post is fixed term for 5 years in the first instance. The working pattern is negotiable, but the nature of the work will require flexibility around working hours and there will be some evening and weekend work (reimbursed with time off in lieu).
You will have experience of managing the office of a senior member of staff and providing excellent service or very strong evidence that you will be capable of this role. Experience of diary management and managing administrative processes including making travel arrangements are essential. You must have excellent computer skills including e-mail, word, excel, PowerPoint and the internet. The ability to manage and prioritise a varied and busy workload with a high attention to detail with an outstanding level of accuracy. Experience in typing technical documents and finance administration would be useful.
This role will work closely with the PA in Zoology who will provide administrative and secretarial support to Professor Tim Walsh so you must be able to develop successful working relationships with academic and support staff colleagues across the Institute, the Department and in the wider University.
