Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Immunologist to join Associate Professor Katie Ewer’s pre-erythrocytic (PE) malaria and outbreak pathogens vaccine development group at the Jenner Institute, University of Oxford. The research programme focuses on clinical testing of novel vaccines.

You will participate in the research programme led by Professor Adrian Hill and Associate Professor Katie Ewer to develop novel malaria and outbreak pathogen vaccines. You will help supervise students and other members of the group and assist with the management of laboratory work within the group. You will also liaise with industrial/academic collaborators and contribute immunology/vaccine expertise.

It is essential that you hold a doctoral degree (or be near completion) in a subject relevant to immunology/vaccine development, together with experience of human immunology, particularly ELISPOT, ELISA and flow cytometry. You will have a keen interest in vaccine development and human immunology, and be able to research complex issues and interpret, analyse, and present scientific data and write factual reports. You will be self-motivated, technically competent, and capable of working independently in a laboratory. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential for this position.
