Postdoctoral Research Associate in Cancer and Vascular Biology
Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, Old Road Campus, Oxford, OX3 7FY
Grade 7: £32,817 to £40,322 p.a.
We are seeking a self-motivated and committed Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Kusumbe lab.
This project aims to unravel the role of blood vessels and their endothelial cells during metastasis.
You will be a member of a young and dynamic research group studying tissue and tumour microenvironments and will provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including PhD and project students. You will manage your own academic and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines as well, and present detailed research proposals to senior researchers.
You must have a PhD in molecular/cell biology or a related discipline, together with relevant practical experience. Sufficient specialist knowledge in vascular or bone biology and ability to manage own academic research and associated activities are essential for this post. Willingness to work with the mouse model systems and experience of independently managing a discrete area of a research project would be desirable.
This is a full time appointment for 2 years.
Due to the nature of the research at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, this job will require additional security pre-employment checks:
• A satisfactory basic Disclosure and Barring Service check
• University security screening (eg identity checks)
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday 5th March 2021
