Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Organic chemistry, to work under the supervision of Professor Ed Anderson for up to 18 months. This project, funded by the EPSRC, involves the development of new methods for the synthesis and transformations of bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanes (BCPs), and related bioisosteres of interest to the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. Find out more about the Anderson research group at: http://research.chem.ox.ac.uk/ed-anderson.aspx and https://www.edandersonchem.org.

You should have a PhD in Chemistry, or have submitted your thesis prior to taking up the appointment. You will be expected to manage your academic research and administrative activities, co-ordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines, interacting with collaborators, and supervising other students in the group.

The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory, 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA, and is available from 15th January 2022.

You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 midday, Monday 29th November 2021. Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter.

The University of Oxford and the Department of Chemistry are Athena SWAN Silver award holders. Applications are particularly welcome from women and black and ethnic minority candidates, who are under-represented in Chemistry research posts in Oxford.
