This role is based in the omics research group which carries out multi-omics research in cardiometabolic and neuropsychiatric disorders. You will work on an international collaborative study which aims to develop new drug targets, as well as create new platforms and technologies to aid drug discovery for cardio-metabolic and neuropsychiatric diseases based on artificial intelligence (AI). The project will target rare Mendelian as well as common variants. You will be a member of a research group with responsibility for carrying out multi-omics data mining, integration of epidemiological, clinical, genetic studies. The works aims to bridge the gap between classical epidemiology and genetics and state-of-the- art deep learning methods with the aim to predict risks and explain the pathogenesis.
To be considered you will have a relevant PhD and relevant experience and an interest in public health and therapeutic interventions that target rare and common genetic variants that are implicated in cardiometabolic and neuropsychiatric disease. You will also have experience of health data analysis, big data in the omics field and data mining.
The position is full time (part time considered) and fixed-term for 2 years.The closing date for application is 12.00 noon on 29th November 2021.
