Postdoctoral Researcher in Haematopoietic Stem Cell Biology
Radcliffe Department of Medicine, MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, MRC Molecular Haematology Unit, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford
Grade 7: £32,817 – £40,322 per annum
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Researcher to lead a project using state-of-the-art techniques to study haematopoietic stem cell biology. You will work directly with Dr. Adam Wilkinson and his team, and closely with other MRC Molecular Haematology Unit groups. The project will build on a recently developed long-term ex vivo haematopoietic stem cell expansion culture system (Wilkinson et al., Nature 2019; Nature Protocols 2020) and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing methodologies (Wilkinson et al., Nature Communications 2021).
You will hold a relevant PhD (or near to completion: thesis submitted) together with experience in haematology or a field relevant to the project. Experience in one or more of the core techniques for the project (molecular biology, multicolour flow cytometry, cell culture, stem cell models, animal handling) is essential. A demonstrable interest in haematopoiesis and/or stem cell biology would be advantageous.
The post is fixed term until 31 March 2025, funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC).
