Grade 7: £32,817 – £40,322 p.a.(with a standby payment at 6% of the basic salary for on-call work)

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Scientist to join our Islet Isolation team, based at OCDEM on the Churchill Hospital Site.

The post is funded for 1 year on a rolling contract by the Department of Health via the National Commissioning Body. The post-doctoral scientist is primarily required to take a major role in the clinical islet isolation and transplantation programme and to participate in research activities within the Islet Transplant Research Group. You will hold a PhD in Biological Sciences and will have experience of presentation and interpretation of scientific papers and information. You will have a flexible approach to the workload and will be willing to participate in the on-call rota, which does involve night working. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both in writing and orally and will work well within a team as well as independently.

This full-time post is available immediately and is fixed-term until 31 March 2022 in the first instance. We would be willing to consider applications for part-time hours.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and as part of the application process you are required to upload your CV and a covering letter. Please quote reference NDSA771 on all correspondence.
