Grade 7: Salary in range £32,817 – £40,322 per annum
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Scientist in Protein Production within the Centre for Medicines Discovery is led by Professor Chas Bountra, at the heart of Oxford’s biomedical research and clinical capabilities.
You will help lead and deliver molecular biology and protein production projects for internal CMD and external academic and industrial customer projects. You will design expression constructs and generate clones using high throughput ligation independent cloning or cloning strategies. You will develop and implement novel methodologies and carefully analyse data and report the results suggesting plans for moving forwards.
It is essential that you hold a PhD (or close to completion), with a proven academic or industrial track record in molecular biology or biochemistry. You will be an expert in expression and purification of proteins in bacterial and baculoviral or mammalian systems, and have significant experience in troubleshooting production problems. You will work closely with the Protein Production SRF Coordinator and as part of a team with multiple milestones and tight timelines for delivery of projects; therefore, you must have the confidence and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
