Programme Manager – Oxford Net Zero

We are seeking a Programme Manager to implement the day-to-day management of Oxford Net Zero (ONZ). Drawing on the University’s world-leading expertise in climate science and policy, ONZ aims to transform policies and practices at multiple scales to achieve net zero emissions and sustainable development. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an ambitious research and engagement programme on one of the most high-profile environmental issues.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Directors in their overall responsibility for leadership of the initiative. You will work alongside the other members of the core team (the communications manager, programme administrator, policy engagement fellow and four net zero research fellows) as well as the co-investigators and researchers across the University. You will maintain and develop project management and communication mechanisms across the initiative’s nine work packages, including the budget, risk register, monitoring & evaluation framework and data strategy, keeping in regular contact with key stakeholders. You will manage, coordinate, and track the preparation of proposals to contribute to income development and sustained longer-term funding of the initiative. Other duties include line managing the ONZE Programme Administrator and Communications Manager.
You must hold a Master’s degree or higher, or have equivalent experience. You will have proven programme management skills including planning, managing, delivering and monitoring. You will have excellent financial management skills with experience of budget administration, forecasting and reporting. Demonstrable skills and experience in stakeholder management and knowledge exchange activities is essential. The ability to build to build and manage good, collaborative working relationships at both an individual and institutional level, and spanning a range of cultures is a must.
