We are seeking a Programme Manager to implement the day-to-day management of Oxford Net Zero which is a new initiative drawing on the University’s world-leading expertise in climate science and policy. The initiative will provide research and new resources for policymakers and businesses at this critical juncture for international action on climate change. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an ambitious research and engagement programme on one of the most high-profile environmental issues.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of the initiative and maintaining and developing project management mechanisms, including the budget, risk register, monitoring and evaluation framework and data strategy. You will be organising meetings and managing and contributing to the preparation of project and financial reporting. Key duties also include supporting recruitment and induction of new staff. You will manage preparation of proposals to contribute to income development and sustained longer-term funding of the initiative.

You must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher or have equivalent experience. You will have proven programme management skills including planning, managing, delivering and monitoring. You will have excellent financial management skills with experience of budget administration, forecasting and reporting. Experience of organising and delivering events such as workshops, conferences and meetings is essential. The ability to build and manage good working relationships at both an individual and institutional level, across academia, business and policy, and spanning a range of cultures is a must.

This is a full-time post for 4 years. While this is a full-time role we can support flexible working arrangements (for instance if you have caring responsibilities) in agreement with the Director.
