Research Assistant

Grade 6: £29,176 – £34,804 per annum

COVID-19 data are pivotal for researchers to provide an evidence base for decision makers. Our international team is working on the largest collection of individual level case data using automated and tailored computational infrastructure. We are recruiting an engineer to contribute to the development of ethical data sharing principles. Further, the post holder will develop new methods to identify data biases and how to best surface these on the online platform.

The main responsibility of the post holder will be to identify ethical guidelines for data sharing, develop computational tools to surface these and ensure data quality across the platform. Further the postholder will interpret epidemiological data and will support the writing of tailored data ingestion scripts.

The skills required are a good understanding and working knowledge of distributed cloud computing systems (AWS), programming language Python and understanding of large epidemiological datasets. Further, the post holder should have experience working in large industry-academia research for public health projects.
