Grade 6: £29,614 – £35,326, with a discretionary range up to £38,587 p.a.
We are seeking a research assistant to join our team in Oxford to assist the development and implementation of pathogen sequencing methods and laboratory systems for clinical HIV research and pathogen surveillance in Sub-Saharan Africa.
You will be responsible for managing your own research and administrative activities. You will apply your experience in experimental molecular biology to assist in the development and implementation of protocols to characterise whole RNA and DNA virus genomes from low-volume blood specimens.
It is essential that you hold a degree with experience working in the scientific sector, either in industry or academia. You will have the ability to make use of information technology systems and software within a laboratory. Excellent communication skills will also be required to carrying out collaborative projects with colleagues in partner institutions and research groups will need.
