Research Assistant in Haematopoietic Stem Cell Biology

Grade 6: £29,176 – £34,804 p.a.
Applications are invited for a pre-doctoral research assistant to work with Dr Adam Wilkinson at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine.
This is an exciting opportunity to participate in an innovative project studying haematopoietic stem cell biology and leukaemic evolution. You will perform scientific work to high technical standards, and demonstrate excellent record keeping and organizational skills. Key experimental procedures will include conventional cellular and molecular biology techniques such as purification and culture of primary cells, flow cytometry analysis and sorting, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technologies, in vivo functional assays, and genomics protocols. You will become part of a highly committed and expert team working on basic and translational research.
You will hold a first degree (2:1 or above) in a related subject, such as biomedical sciences together with substantial laboratory experience.
The post is fixed term until 31 March 2025, funded by the Kay Kendall Leukaemia Fund.
