Grade 6: £ 29,614 – £ 35,326 with a discretionary range to £ 38,587 per annum

We are seeking a highly-motivated Research Assistant to join Associate Professor Katie Ewer’s pre-erythrocytic (PE) malaria and outbreak pathogens group at the Jenner Institute.

You will participate in the research programme led by Professor Katie Ewer to identify immunological correlates of protection for our leading malaria vaccine. You will perform research work to a high standard in cell and tissue culture and operate laboratory equipment used for all aspects of immunology. You will also be responsible for analysing data and present them to the Senior Immunologist and wider group.

It is essential that you hold a degree in a relevant biological subject with a keen interest in malaria and immunology of infectious diseases. You will have the ability to interpret scientific data and process samples to a consistently high standard with great attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills and interpersonal skills are also key to this post.
