Research Assistant:Secondary Education in Early Neurodevelopment (SEEN)

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit. SEEN Oxford aims to see if the introduction of a short teaching programme could improve the understanding of Key Stage 3 pupils about the neuroscience of early development and the critical role of caregiver-infant relationships for babies’ brain development. The project involves the development, delivery and evaluation of a KS3 lesson plan, teaching materials and background materials for staff. The project is currently in its pre-pilot phase.
The post is full time (consideration would be given to candidates looking to work part-time (minimum of 80% FTE) on a pro rata basis) and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital (currently remote working).
The post is for a fixed term (funded to end of September 2021).
You will be responsible for supporting the development of teaching materials and lesson plans for KS3 staff and pupils; these will be piloted before more rigorous evaluation across a number of schools across the UK. You will manage communications with participating schools; support data collection and analysis; contribute to the pilot evaluation; and disseminate research findings to multiple audiences.
You will have a degree or equivalent experience in education, psychology, public health, education, academic research, healthcare or related industry. You will have experience of evaluation, implementation and disseminating research to varied audiences.
