Department of Psychiatry, Warnefortd Hospital, Oxford OX3 7JX

Grade 6: £29,176 p.a.

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit. SEEN Oxford aims to see if the introduction of a short teaching programme could improve the understanding of Key Stage 3 pupils about the neuroscience of early development and the critical role of caregiver-infant relationships for babies’ brain development. The project involves the development, delivery and evaluation of a KS3 lesson plan, teaching materials and background materials for staff. The project is currently in its pre-pilot phase.

The post is full time (consideration would be given to candidates looking to work part-time (minimum of 80% FTE) on a pro rata basis) and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital (currently remote working).

The post is for a fixed term (funded to end of September 2021).

You will be responsible for supporting the development of teaching materials and lesson plans for KS3 staff and pupils; these will be piloted before more rigorous evaluation across a number of schools across the UK. You will manage communications with participating schools; support data collection and analysis; contribute to the pilot evaluation; and disseminate research findings to multiple audiences.

You will have a degree or equivalent experience in education, psychology, public health, education, academic research, healthcare or related industry. You will have experience of evaluation, implementation and disseminating research to varied audiences.

You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement and a CV as part of your application.

The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday on 11th March
