We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Clinical Data Manager to join the Surgical Intervention Trials Unit (SITU), working within a multi-disciplinary environment in order to develop, implement and run clinical trial data management activities. The Senior Clinical Data Manager will develop key capabilities within SITU and the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (NDS) relating to data management and programming and will ensure that data systems are maintained to the highest level of integrity at all times. You will be responsible for leading a small team of Clinical Data Managers; you will provide oversite and line management but will also use initiative to drive quality and process improvement ensuring compliance with clinical trial legislative requirements. It is expected that the Senior Clinical Data Manager will lead by example and therefore be hands-on carrying out programming and validation functions whilst also providing leadership and progressing development.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in IT or life sciences (or equivalent). You will have proven ability to work at a senior level within a data management team and have a strong track record of experience working with complex databases. It is essential that you have a demonstrable understanding of the role of data management in contributing to the conduct of high quality clinical trials and compliance with regulatory standards such as ICH-GCP and UK Clinical Trials Regulations. You will have evidence of strong line and project management, and have the ability to work efficiently and prioritising your own and others workloads. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and negotiate at a senior level.

This is a full-time post is available immediately and is fixed-term for 2 years in the first instance. We would be willing to consider applications for part-time hours.
