SENIOR DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE – MEDICAL SCIENCES (MENTAL HEALTH)

Development Office, University Offices, Wellington Square and Department of Psychiatry, Warneford Hospital, Warneford Lane, Oxford

Grade 8: £42,149 – £50,296 per annum with possible extension to £54,943

The University of Oxford’s Medical Sciences Development team is recruiting a Senior Development Executive to join a highly effective and fast-growing fundraising team. This role will focus on raising philanthropic support for mental health research, particularly diseases of the aging brain, adolescent mental health and drug discovery, working closely with our world-leading academics in the Department of Psychiatry and the Nuffield Department of Medicine.

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic fundraiser with experience of raising six- and seven-figure gifts. The role requires the ability to proactively research potential donors, initiate and build strong relationships (both internal and external), understand and discuss complex academic projects, and be passionate about gaining support for mental health research. Outstanding fundraising, stewardship and communication skills are needed to be successful in this role.

The Medical Sciences Division at Oxford has had an extraordinary time since early 2020, leading in many of the research areas relating to the pandemic, most notably on the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. Part of the University of Oxford Development Office, the Medical Sciences development team is high-achieving and friendly. The team provides support to the 16 departments within the Division, raising funds for priorities such as global and mental health, as well as a number of other exciting and ground-breaking areas in medical sciences.

We encourage applicants from all sectors of the community and are especially keen to encourage candidates from under-represented groups to apply.

Only applications received before 12.00 noon on Wednesday 9 February can be considered. You will be required to upload a letter of application as part of your online application. Interviews are currently scheduled to take place on Friday 4 March.
