Senior Graduate Accommodation Officer

The role of the Graduate Accommodation Office is to provide accommodation for the University’s graduate students and to ensure the accommodation is maintained to the highest possible standard. The portfolio of accommodation consists of approximately 950 units across 6 main sites. The accommodation ranges from single student bedrooms to 3 bedroom houses. Working across the University, in conjunction with the Colleges and departments, the Senior Graduate Accommodation Officer is primarily responsible for the letting and management of the graduate accommodation portfolio as well as being responsible for the day to day supervision of the Graduate Accommodation Officers who act as the first point of contact for all enquiries. The working hours are 37.5 per week and some weekend working may be required for which time in lieu will be applicable.
As part of this role you will ensure the allocation of properties is carried out in accordance with the Graduate Accommodation policies and that all documentation prepared is accurate, liaising with Legal Team and Comms Team where necessary. You will be dealing with tenants’ queries, problems and complaints, escalating to the Graduate Accommodation Manager when necessary. You will be required to liaise with the Colleges on the management of their nomination agreements and concerns relating to their students and properties. You will be liaising with contractors and the Graduate Accommodation Facilities and Services Site Assistants regarding general maintenance issues and notifying tenants of work being carried out in their accommodation. You will handle day to day personnel issues, including dealing with holiday, attendance and assisting with disciplinary issues. You will be required to participate in the emergency call-out service on a rota system for out of hours for Graduate Accommodation.
The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing, be highly organised and able to prioritise own workload. They must able to work independently and in a team, have a flexible approach to varying work patterns during busy times and be able to work under pressure in a calm and efficient manner.
