Grade 6: £29,614 – £35,326 with a discretionary range to £38,587 p.a.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Senior Grants Officer to support the Project Manager (Dr Amy Boyd) in a variety of finance administration activities within the Emerging Pathogens team led by Professor Sarah Gilbert.

You will work in very close liaison with the senior administration team including the Business Manager, individual Research Project Managers, the Finance Manager, and the NDM HR Centre. You will be expected to meet with Principal Investigators to maintain and develop an efficient research administration service. This will involve pre- and post-award activity as well as responsibility for disseminating relevant information to researchers on funding opportunities.

It is essential that you are educated to Bachelor’s Degree level or equivalent. You will have knowledge of research grants and contracts, and be able to analyse and understand financial data, with experience of using a costing tool. You will be a natural team player, with the ability to work well within a team as well as be adept at working independently. You will have high levels of organisational and interpersonal skills as the role involves managing and prioritising grant applications and awards, ensuring that targets and deadlines are met in accordingly.
