Senior IT Service Desk Analyst (City Centre)

MSD IT Services, City Centre, Oxford

Grade 6, £29,176 to £34,804 p.a. with discretionary scale to £38,017

The Medical Sciences Division of the University of Oxford has seen a significant increase in IT support demand as more researchers have been brought into departments and MSD IT Services has taken on additional support duties in some department. Oxford University’s ground-breaking Covid-19 work both on vaccination and therapies has brought significant extra IT demand as will the soon-to-open Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin Institute in the Science Area. If you are keen to join a dynamic team of IT professionals under skilled local leadership and as part of the City-wide 20-strong MSD IT Services team then this could be a great next role for you.

If successful you would work with and support researchers and administration staff at all levels of seniority, expertise and IT literacy. You’d understand their needs, pressures and success factors so you can provide and support the best IT for their particular situations. You will be used to working in a team, being able to be led by those more senior than you and able to lead those less senior or experienced than you.

We’ll expect to see evidence of an excellent customer-service track record, great communication skills in English, and a broad level of experience and support of common IT systems, networks and software including PCs, Macs, Mobile devices, and Microsoft Office 365. Common networking and directory service technologies knowledge will be helpful as will that of IT Service/Project management. Experience working in a Higher Education research-led environment will also be of value.

We will need your application by noon on Monday 15 March 2021 so we can consider it for shortlisting. Applications must be made online. We hope to interview for this role in the third week of March.
