Senior Mechanical Workshop Technician

Grade 6: £29,176 – £34,804 per annum
We are seeking a full-time Senior Mechanical Workshop Technician to join Mechanical Workshop at the Oxford Thermofluids Institute (OTI), Department of Engineering Science (Osney Mead). The post is permanent.
You will be a highly experienced mechanical engineer and machinist, jointly responsible for ensuring that the research group in the OTI is provided with excellent manufacturing support by manufacturing or procuring components for the research group. You will ensure that the workshop service provision, workshop team effectiveness and morale and the workshop facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
You should possess a formal qualification, such as an HNC, BTEC, City and Guilds award or equivalent in an appropriate subject (e.g. mechanical engineering apprenticeship), have solid experience in using standard mechanical workshop equipment (e.g. lathes, milling machines) in an engineering environment, together with good working knowledge of high pressure, high volume compressed air systems.
